Beginning in 2006, homeowners can take advantage of incentives to make their homes energy efficient.
Tax credits are available for home energy efficiency, solar energy, passenger vehicles and fuel cells. The federal tax credits are in effect for work done between Jan. 1, 2006 and Dec. 31, 2007. A new effort has been launched our education partner, American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE), in collaboration with other groups to provide a quick reference tool for how these tax credits can benefit you. Visit the Tax Incentives Assistance Project (TIAP), website at EnergyTaxIncentives.org.

Efficiency Rebates. Check with your utility to see if they offer rebates for upgrading equipment, appliances, lighting or sealing air leaks in your home.
Solar Energy Rebates. Due to the passage of Amendment 37 in Colorado (2004), some utilities are offering significant rebates for solar electric (PV) systems. To learn what rebates are available in your area, visit your utility's website.
