Every year the Smart Energy Living Alliance runs energy makeover contests for local participating utilities. In October, 2007 three Energy Makeover winners were selected based on high energy use and other criteria. These winners are scheduled for between $20,000 and $50,000 worth of energy efficiency and/or solar energy upgrades. Their energy bills will drop by 20% to 80%, saving them hundreds or thousands of dollars in energy costs!
